Course Title: Counseling for Substance Abuse & Addiction

Counseling for Substance Abuse & Addiction provides answers to the student regarding important questions about drugs and why people use them. The course includes a textbook and workbook. Counseling for Substance Abuse & Addiction teaches students that drug abuse is complex and no one has all the answers, however, this course is to be used as an introductory course to begin gathering some of those answers.
The primary goal of this course is to present fundamental principles, aiding the student in his or her work of counseling those who suffer from addiction.
The required textbook and workbook are included in the price of the course, and will be shipped to the student.

- Student must complete a final exam

NOTE: This course leads to Advanced Certification in Substance Abuse & Addiction Therapy if the student completes courses CC209, CC210, CC211 and CC212 in the Christian Counseling degree program.
This course leads to Advanced Certification in Domestic Violence & Intervention Therapy if the student completes courses CC106, CC205, CC209, CC211, and CC227, in the Christian Counseling degree program, and holds a Master’s Degree or higher.
